Your data in TravelJim

TravelJim helps you plan and record your training. Here is what the current pilot stores and the controls available to you.

Profile and workouts

Your profile, equipment, travel plans, check-ins and workout results are saved in this browser. When you sign in and sync, they are also stored in your TravelJim account through Supabase. Vercel hosts the app. Account sign-in uses your email address and password through Supabase authentication.

You can explore gyms before creating a training profile. When you build your first workout or apply today’s settings, we remember the place name you entered, equipment, time zone and available minutes with your profile. These choices apply only to the same local day and planned trip; they do not set your usual home area. The latest choice stays in your profile until replaced or your data is cleared. Search coordinates and Google place content are not included in this remembered choice.

Optional WhatsApp concierge

When available, you can connect your own WhatsApp number in Profile. Send the prepared linking message from that number within ten minutes. WhatsApp messages are handled by Meta; TravelJim uses Anthropic to interpret your text and temporary conversation context. Your phone number, account identifiers, workout history and wearable data are not added to the AI request. Your message may contain personal information you choose to send. Your synced plan is used by TravelJim to prepare workouts. This is separate from advertising consent.

Context expires after 24 hours; task records expire after eight days. Expired data is removed by scheduled cleanup. Incoming text is removed from a task after successful processing. Agreed follow-ups require a separate opt-in and confirmation of the date, time and time zone. Reply STOP or disconnect in Profile to remove the connection, context and pending tasks. Clearing or deleting your account also removes them. A message already being sent may still arrive. Copies in WhatsApp and providers’ own retention are separate from TravelJim storage.

This first version supports text messages. It does not monitor your location. You can cancel an agreed follow-up in Profile or reply CANCEL. Account exports include your connection and retained task records, without linking secrets. Read the WhatsApp privacy policy and Anthropic privacy policy.

Optional analytics and advertising measurement

Essential browser storage supports sign-in, your saved training and your cookie choices. Optional measurement stays off until you choose it. You can refuse it and use the app,choose analytics and marketing separately, or change your choice at any time. We remember your choice on this browser for 180 days.

With analytics consent, Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics 4. We measure page views, app-opening clicks, confirmed email registrations, completed onboarding and the first fully completed workout in your current training history. We send only these milestones and fixed page labels, never your name, email, account ID, program, exercises, sets, weights, effort, check-ins, location or wearable summaries. URL query strings and fragments are excluded, and authentication callback pages are not measured. Automatic form, scroll and content tracking, Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled.

Google receives browser and device information and uses analytics cookies (including _ga) to distinguish visits. We limit these cookies to 180 days. Google may process data outside your country. Read how Google uses information from sites and apps.

With marketing consent, a Meta image pixel measures public landing-page views and successful account registrations after confirmation. Submitting the signup form, signing in and resetting a password do not count as registrations. Meta can receive your IP address, browser information and its own existing cookies, subject to your browser settings, to measure advertising. We do not load Meta’s JavaScript, send training activity or enable automatic matching or server-side advertising tracking. No training or account details are sent through advertising measurement. The optional WhatsApp service is described above. Read the Meta Privacy Policy.

Withdrawing analytics consent removes TravelJim’s analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop collection. Withdrawing marketing consent stops further Meta requests. This does not erase information already received by those providers or their cookies on other websites. Rejected events are not stored for later replay.

Cookie settings

Location is optional

TravelJim asks for your location after you press Use current location or start an optional nearby search, or after you enable Suggest gyms when I’m away. With Use current location, if you keep it, coordinates and accuracy are saved with the workout you prepare and included in account sync and your data export. Your usual equipment preset does not store coordinates. We do not track your location in the background. You can enter a place name instead or remove the location before saving. For a saved training place, you can separately choose Remember location to recognise that gym on a future visit. Those coordinates are stored with the saved place and included in account sync. Uncheck that option and update the place, or remove the place, to delete its remembered location. Recognition only suggests a match; you confirm the equipment.

Trainer invitations

You can create a private invitation for your trainer’s email address. After signing in with that confirmed address, the trainer can read your first name, selected plan version and the finished workout results you chose to share. Location, check-ins and wearable data are excluded. No invitation email is sent automatically. Links expire after seven days and can be accepted once. Accepted access remains available until withdrawn. The shared selection is a copy from the time of invitation, rather than ongoing access to your account. Withdraw access in Profile → Your trainer. This blocks new access but cannot recall copies the trainer already saved. Clearing account data or deleting either account also closes its sharing connections.

Local help

Find my gym automatically on Today is a separate, optional choice, off by default. After you enable it and allow browser location access, Today searches the configured map provider using your approximate location and updates as you move. It uses your saved gym preferences and next workout on this device to order the options. A completed workout can slightly favour a familiar gym when its name and the fresh location you explicitly saved with that workout identify the same place. This comparison stays on your device; opening a gym card or directions does not count as a visit. The app checks existing browser permission before automatic searches and does not automatically request it again. Checks pause when you leave Today, open a dialog, hide the page or go offline. Turn the setting off under Automatic gym suggestions to stop. The choice is stored only in this browser, separately per profile, without a location history. Clearing your TravelJim data also clears this choice.

Remember automatic club website checks is a separate browser setting, also off by default. It reuses the optional research described below during Today and the main gym finder. While automatic search is active, an upcoming trip within seven days can also prepare a broad area when its place exactly matches an existing saved training location with remembered coordinates. Trip names, dates and profile details stay on the device. Switching it off stops future automatic research requests. Shared checks already queued can finish. Published opening hours and explicit gym day-pass prices, when available, are dated source information and do not confirm admission or live booking availability.

Check club websites automatically is an optional choice in the gym finder. When enabled, TravelJim sends a broad search area, rounded to a 0.05-degree grid, to OpenStreetMap’s Overpass service and checks public club websites. No account, profile, workout or precise location is sent to those websites. The choice lasts only while the finder is open unless you separately choose to remember automatic checks. Shared area checks and public club facts are stored without an account or device link. Active areas are rechecked before their earliest facts expire, subject to the shared daily limit; unused area records are removed after 90 days. Access, price and trainer information expires within a day, opening hours within two days, pool and spa information within three days, and equipment within seven days. Earlier source expiry always applies. Each fact links to its source. Unclear facilities, visitor access, quality and crowding remain unconfirmed. These checks use no AI provider. An explicit Google Place ID published by the identified branch can link its independent information to a map result. Turning off checks stops this finder’s requests; a shared check already queued can finish for other users.

While an active finder is open, returning from another page can restore its results and scroll position from temporary memory after a fresh location confirms the same area. Closing or stopping the search discards that session. Internal quality checks use public city and village centres and aggregate service health, without user identifiers or notification prompts.

Suggest gyms when I’m away is optional and off by default. It compares your current location with your usual training place’s separately remembered location while Today is visible. Beyond 5 km it offers a nearby search; the comparison takes place on your device and sends nothing to the map service. The preference is saved with your profile. Location checks pause when you leave Today, open a dialog, go offline or hide the page, and stop when you turn the setting off or remove the remembered usual location. Choosing Find a gym on the suggestion starts the map search described below. Choosing Not now pauses suggestions for the day; only the dismissal date and a reference to your saved place are kept on this browser, separately for each account. Live comparison readings are not saved or synced.

Local tips are requested from Find a gym nearby or Adjust today. If you allow and start a nearby search, TravelJim updates your location while the search is open and visible. Updates pause when the page is hidden or offline, and stop when you close the search, press Stop location updates or withdraw search consent. Search readings remain in memory and are not saved in your profile, workouts or account sync. TravelJim sends an approximate search centre (rounded to three decimal places), activity category and search radius to the configured map provider, shown before you start. When Google Maps is enabled for gym search, its map and Places services receive the search centre, radius and selected place identifiers. Google also receives the browser requests needed to display maps, photos and place details. For up to six eligible gyms, Google may calculate walking duration from the same approximate search centre to help order the results. Durations remain in memory for up to five minutes and are not saved or synced. Google also receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address. Google scripts and the base map load when you open the gym finder. The map starts without your location or gym results. Choosing Show gyms near me requests browser location permission and starts the approximate-location search; stopping removes location markers and results. Google results are held in memory, not our database or offline cache. Otherwise, searches use the configured OpenStreetMap Overpass service, whose results may be cached for five minutes. Switching to the alternative provider requires a new search choice. No account identity, equipment preferences, check-in or workout results are sent to either map service. Equipment and premium matching take place on your device. Premium facts come from separately sourced, dated venue checks; an unknown facility stays unconfirmed. Google ratings do not automatically establish a premium match. Saved equipment is shown separately from unknown map-listing equipment. Results do not confirm booking availability or recommended routes. You can instead enter an area and open a search in Google Maps. Opening external maps or venue websites shares the chosen search or destination with that service. No background location tracking or tip notifications are enabled.

Choose a destination lets you enter a city, village, neighbourhood or hotel instead of sharing your device location. After you agree and press Find destination, Google receives that query. You select the intended location before the nearby gym search starts. The query and selected search centre remain in memory for this search and are not saved to your profile or synced. Switching to Near me requires a separate location choice.

Remember my gym preferences saves your selected club criteria, optional facilities, confirmation requirements, search distance and training setting in your profile, including account sync and data export. Equipment needs are taken from your next workout. Saved gym preferences do not include your search location, destination query or location permission. You can change and save these preferences again in the gym finder.

Google Maps use is subject to the Google Maps terms and Google privacy policy.

Oura daily summaries

When enabled, connecting Oura is optional and requires your agreement plus authorization at Oura. TravelJim requests daily sleep, readiness and activity summaries, including steps. It shows the latest summary for each category and its date when you choose Sync now. The request checks the last seven days for available records. These summaries are processed temporarily and shown only in the current overview; they are not saved in our database, account snapshots or offline storage. Leaving the overview or reloading clears them. We do not request raw heart-rate measurements, location or your Oura password.

Access and refresh tokens are encrypted on the server so you can load another summary without authorizing again. We also retain connection status and timestamps, including the last successful request time. Oura data is not sent to AI systems or used to automatically prescribe workouts. We do not send your TravelJim workouts to Oura or share them with a trainer.

WHOOP summaries

WHOOP is another optional connection. With your agreement and WHOOP authorization, TravelJim reads sleep performance and duration, Recovery, resting heart rate, HRV and cycle Strain from the last seven days. It keeps only the latest summary per category, its date, scoring status and sync time. Naps are excluded from the sleep overview. We do not request your WHOOP profile, body measurements, individual workouts or password. Encrypted access and refresh tokens let you sync again without signing into WHOOP every time. Data is shown separately from Oura and does not automatically change your training plan.

Export, disconnect and clear

Training report in Progress creates a file on your device for a date range you choose, whether or not you planned a trip. It contains workout and plan titles and recorded sets. Your name, place and equipment setup names, and check-ins are optional and off by default. Coordinates, account email and wearable data are excluded. The report is not sent to a trainer automatically and does not grant account access.

Use Export data in Profile or Progress for your training records. The Oura overview has a separate export of the summary currently displayed, saved only when you choose to download it. Disconnect Oura clears that view, removes its tokens and pending consent from TravelJim, and requests revocation at Oura. If revocation cannot be confirmed, the app tells you to remove TravelJim in your Oura account as well. The WHOOP overview also provides export and disconnect. Disconnecting WHOOP removes its saved tokens and summary and requests revocation at WHOOP; if that request cannot be completed, the app tells you to revoke access in your WHOOP account as well.

Clear account data removes the app’s stored profile, plans, trips, workouts and Oura and WHOOP connections; your sign-in account remains. Clear account data removes local connection records; you can also revoke the external permissions directly in Oura or WHOOP. Previously downloaded exports and copies on other offline devices are not remotely erased. Hosting and database providers may retain operational logs or backups under their retention policies.
